Smash’s bad online matchmaking still doesn’t beat Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection where you’d chose a game to play, get paired with someone who chose a different game, then the system randomly picked between those two for you to both play- Pretty Obvious December 8, 2018 This time with a different developer, Digital Eclipse, they released a compilation collection of all the Street Fighter games. Of the games listed above, both Marvel vs Capcom games were removed from the store due to licensing issues in 2013, so only two of the four are now available.īut there was a second time in 2018 when Capcom wanted to re-release all the Street Fighter games for its 30th anniversary. This was the first ever set of re-releases that Capcom made. They were improved and ported by an elite group of developers under Iron Galaxy studios and Capcom pushed an incredible amount of ambition and production into their creation.Įven going as far as making Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition playable without an internet connection, going directly against Sony's DRM mechanism, just for the sake of supporting tournament play. Some of them were released with physical copies, but all of them were mainly meant to be purchased digitally on PS3 and 360's marketplaces. In the early 2010's, Capcom released improved-modernized versions of many of its legendary fighters, including the Marvel vs Capcom fighters. Let's put into perspective the timeline of Capcom's pursuits with their classic re-releases. Marvel vs Capcom 2's limbo is only one tragedy in the disastrous shipwreck of Capcom's classic re-releases The issue isn't that there aren't modern versions of Marvel vs Capcom, but that their distribution is horribly flawed. The problem, however, is that Marvel vs Capcom 2 is just one of many victims of Capcom's terrible decision-making when it comes to preservation of their classics across platforms. Will need to talk to Disney and Capcom to make it real. (16x9, etc) I love the outpouring- We’d swap in GGPO and do documentary and museum work, etc.

It would be nice if reference material was made easily available for them.ĭitto for the Evo forum - just a stickied list of which versions of games are going to be at the upcoming tournament (and if they change during the year, then so be it - that’s life). And lets face it, this community is one that enjoys new blood.

A simple “recommended home versions of games” stickied thread (or at least one that lists the versions used at major tournaments, if no-one wants to be bold enough to make recommendations any more) would be very helpful for folks new to the forums and/or scene in general. Of course, a working wiki or stickied articles in the tech forum would probably reduce the rate at which these things crop up. Seeing as this forum breaks down to maybe a dozen diferent games that get discussed with alarming regularity, the search feature is all but useless. Search is a wonderful thing if the item you are searching for is fairly unique. Searching for too many like “MvC2 differences” yeilds almost nothing useful. In his defense, search for too few phrases like “MvC2” or “Marvel” yeilds pages and pages of unrelated character-specific threads. Glad to see the search button is still broken.
